Summer Options

I have the phone interview with Astrocamp at 2 tomorrow.
I would need to be there June 1st to Aug 2nd or so.

There aren't a lot summer blocks that fit into the schedule, but this one caught my interest:
PS 255 9910
Studies at the National Political Convention: The 2008 Democratic National Convention (in Denver)
Two weeks of lectures from party, media, political scientists, and interest group officials, along with an intensive internship.

Isn't that exciting?

Hi: Thanks for all the updates.

1. Good luck on the phone interview with AstroCamp today: don't be late for the call! The dates look like they'd work. I definitely want you to spend a couple weeks at home after school's out and before you have to go back again. Let us know how it went.

2. The DNC in Denver: looks like a great opportunity, especially since it's so close to school, and the timing looks like it could work with a summer job, but wouldn't it overlap with cross country training? Think about how you'd work that and let me know.

3. I picked up the RX and will mail it to you today.

4. Glad to hear you don't have mono. And yes, I'm sure you could figure out a way to get 1 or 2 more hours of sleep every day, you just have to try.

5. Study abroad: fascinating topic, thanks for opening the door to discussion. I would like to know what your current thoughts are about a. how this fits into whatever major you have or will have, b. if you'd be able to go and still graduate in 4 years, c. what it would do to your athletic participation, c. how you'd come up with the extra $1,900 for the program, d. is there a guarantee that you and Chelsea would be able to live with families close to each other, e. other practical stuff.

Finally, got your email about the ResLife housing lottery. Dad reminded me that you recently wrote home mentioning a check for $300+ overpayment that the finance office sent you - can't you deposit that into your checking account and withdraw the necessary amount of cash for the lottery spot? Please CALL me today or this weekend to discuss.

Signed, your practical Mom

Kate: I just glanced at the course description of the summer class you want to take. The dates are Aug. 17 to Aug. 29, and you'd be staying at Regis U. I wonder if you could stay with Patrick? But you'd probably want to stay in the same dorm as the other students. FYI: there are only 25 spots available so if this is something you really want, you need to hurry up and apply. And it costs $1,600 over the regular tuition - so you need to figure out how you're going to pay for it. Do you have any idea how much Astrocamp would pay if you got the job there?

Let me know how the phone call went.
