Stress on the Body, Stress on the Mind

Jenny the RA is driving to Denver Wednesday afternoon, so she can take me. I need to contact Eric or other Jesuit people at DU to spend the night.
Now I'm swamped to my eyeballs in essay writing. We have three six-pagers due @ noon tomorrow and they were all assigned within the last four days.
Cross country post-season checkouts were yesterday. I got those dreaded words from the trainers - well, they're actually letters: "P.T." Pa-tooey. "You've been swimming and icing every day, but those knees are just not getting better." At least our insurance is "really good," so next Block I'll start going to Rocky Mountain Physical Therapy.
Over Thanksgiving I need a pool, or perhaps a bike, or at least a stationary. I will probably rest and sleep all Thursday, but otherwise I need to keep up my fitness. I've been working really hard. Weights or climbing would be nice too. Are any of these places near where we'll be?

Berkeley Ironworks

K: My stomach is tied up in knots just reading this post about what you have to do by noon tomorrow. Good luck. I hope you tried to contact friends in Denver tonight because most of them will probably be flying home on Wednesday & won't be around for you to stay with. What about calling the Petruskas? This is the number I have for them, but don't know if it works anymore: (303) 683-0085 home. Here's Michele Petruska's cell, 720-218-0339. Please let me know what you get worked out.

The Hyatt Embarcadero where we're staying has a fitness center. Here's what it has:

http://sanfranciscoregency.hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels/activities/fitness/index.jsp

You'll see that there's a health club nearby that costs $10. There's also a Y with a pool but their 1-day fee is $15. The Y is closed on Thanksgiving (probably everything will be).

I'm so sorry about your knees.

Is there anything else I can bring for you from home? Call me tomorrow afternoon after you're done with everything & let me know.

If worse comes to worse maybe your RA could drop you off at a cheap hotel by the Denver airport - or drop you somewhere where you could take a shuttle to the Denver airport then you could check into a cheap hotel and just sleep from the time you get dropped off until you have to be at the airport. If that's something you want to contemplate, call us tomorrow so we can make the arrangements.

Please remember to give yourself enough time to get to the airport before your flight leaves. Since you have an 11:37 a.m. flight, you should plan to be there by 10 a.m. And if you're just taking a carry on, they'll take any container with more than 3.5 oz of liquid.

Do you have the confirmation number for your flight?

Kate: On your return on Sunday you're flying out of the San Francisco airport to Colorado Springs. I've found a shuttle van service that can pick you at the Hyatt hotel where we're staying and take you to the SF airport. The price is $14, which Dad and I will pay. Do you know how you'll get back to school from the Colorado Springs airport? M

More on transportation:

Another option would be for you to spend Wednesday night at the dorm and take a shuttle to the Denver airport on Thursday. There's a shuttle service called the Colorado Springs Shuttle that would leave the Clarion Hotel (downtown on N. Bijou) at 8:10 a.m. and get to the Denver airport at 9:40 a.m., which would give you plenty of time before your flight leaves.

On your return on Sunday, here are the names of several shuttle van services that could take you from the Colorado Springs airport to your dorm; I printed out the list so we could call and find out prices & availability before Sunday if you want:

Shuttle Services from Colorado Springs Airport

Chealsey's Charters, (877) 427-4333

Colorado Springs Shuttle, (719) 687-3456 or (877) 587-3456

Ramblin Express, (719) 590-8687
or (800) 772-6254

Shuttle Services of So. Colorado (719) 545-9444 or (877) 545-9435

TNM&O Coaches, Inc., (719) 635-1505
or (800) 236-2307

Well, I wasn't stressed out BEFORE I read your comments.

Hmm. Next Block I will need all my leotards. Big dresser, left side, middle drawer. Then maybe some belts, some more old silverware you don't need plus two or those colored plastic bowls or something, my jeans shorts (yes, the baggy ones!), the spats-style tap shoes, actually ALL dance shoes if they're in pairs, another dress or skirt (whichever one is best for tango and salsa), hair straightener, a pair of heels, earrings, copper head massager in red velvet bag (for brain crank gain), all functional hair clips, and Riley. I'll bring the unused cordless phone with me. I guess you haven't found my Sandisk mp3 player. Hmm.

After Christmas I can get my old US History, Precalc, and Spanish binders with notes. And whatever else.

Could YOU call the Petruskas for me and have them email me at kathryn.rafter@coloradocollege.edu ? My phone doesn't work down here in the library and it would be really dangerous for me to leave my work. I might run (hobble) away and never come back.

Also, Petrushka is a ballet composed by Stravinsky which I am studying and writing about. Like Petruska with an H! Ha ha!
