Block Four

Almost coming to terms with my essays. I absolutely need a break from intensive all-nighter papers. Here's what I'm taking next block after Thanksgiving:

DA221: Beginning Choreographic Forms: Theory and Practice

Study of the choreographic form through problems dealing with aspects of space, time and motion. Prerequisite: 1/4 Unit of Beginning Modern Dance or Dance Improvisation or prior dance experience is recommended. [which I definitely have] 1 unit — taught by Herminjard.
Dance Theory website. I am filled with so much excitement! even in my present dazed state.

Don't worry, (Dad!) because then after winter break I have: Calculus, Spanish, Chemistry, Political Science.

- General Chemistry 107
Basic principles of atomic structure, periodic properties, molecular structure and bonding, chemical reactions, and stoichiometry. Laboratory included.

- Spanish 305: Cultural Context and Written Expression. Advanced composition and conversation practice through the study of literary and cultural texts of the Spanish-speaking world.
I scored waaay too high on the placement test. You know I'm entering FRENCH at 305?

- Math 126: Calculus 1
Differential and integral calculus of algebraic and transcendental functions and applications. Students normally begin the calculus sequence with this course.

- Political Science 240: Foundations of American Constitutionalism and Diplomacy to 1865.
Emphasizes the intellectual precursors and historical development of the federal union of 1787 and of early American foreign policy. Explores impact of experience of ancient Greece, imperial Rome, and Renaissance Italy on outlook of Founding Fathers. Considers America before the Civil War as a system of states, with institutions, norms, and dangers analogous to the European society of states. (Also listed as History 240.)

Kate: Aaron & I left you a long message yesterday but it never showed up.

I'm looking at plane tickets for getting you back to school in January. If classes start on Monday, Jan. 21, do you want to fly to COS on Friday, Jan. 18, Saturday, Jan. 19 or Sunday, Jan. 20? Please let me know ASAP. The tickets are $400 right now and will only go up as time goes on.

Also, classes are out for the summer on May 15, which is when the dorm closes. So that's the date I'll use for your return flight, unless you can come up with a good reason why I should make them for another date.

Friday maybe.

You should really type into a word doc and then paste in the comment box in case it doesn't go through.

Hi:
What a load! Thought you were having one class/time. Hope the next one is without all the long-nighters. Heard your Thanksgiving weekend was good. Anxious to see you in a few weeks. Want to spend a day/night for your Xmas present?
Love, Gr. C.

Hi Kate:

Update your blog! It's so old it's crusty. Let us know how the choreography class is going and whether you got into modern dance.

Speaking of dance, Dad's law firm can get discount tickets to OBT (Oregon Ballet Theater) through the end of the 07/08 season. Would you want to go either during winter break or after you're back in May? Here's a link to the OBT season explainer: http://www.obt.org/home.htm

I'm up to my eyeballs in story assignments, and am up early this a.m. to get a jump on the day.

Love you,

Mom

She has lots of other stuff "on the intersection of work and life." I know it's not high your list of priorities right now, but it's interesting reading.

Do you have a date to the Cotillion yet?
