Professor. Bob. Professor Bob. Mr Lee. Sir.
Today we had breakfast and class in Bob's living room for the second time. (I still feel funny calling my professor by his first name. Most of us kind of mumble instead of calling him anything.)
For the first time in this class we read nonfiction: Naguib Mahfouz's Midaq Alley. We had a great discussion on: Egypt before WWII vs. after WWII, and What was wrong with Egyptian culture? and Was it irreversibly "infected" by some of the negative aspects of Western influence?Dad: I am scanning and emailing to you a form or two, plus Boettcher's (our health center) recommendations for the area's chiropractors. Dr. Jonathon or Tony can see if they know any of them (or let us know if they're any good). Also, of course everyone at Dr. Jonathon's can read this blog! It's for all family and friends.
Mom: What's the deal with my immunizations? Will I take care of that when I'm home in P-Town?
Sorry I've been so swamped. 1) I never got a tangible assessment/report from Kathy Gillis. 2) I have a link for you in Comments. 3) I will scan and email to you (for Dr. Liedel) the pertinent documents later tonight.
Aaron: Have you been swimming, playing soccer, or doing karate? Because I have done a little bit of all of those here. My friend Eliza has a black belt.
Luke: I need answers to four things: are you, in your own opinion, succeeding in football; have you made friends that are girls; do you know anyone on student council; and what Class of '07 grads have people at Jesuit talked about and why?
Grandma Carole: Sammi and I - well, our room has turned into an informal lounge. Everyone has started to come in here to hang, do homework, and tell their life stories. For your sake, I promise that I am kicking them out at 11:30 tonight and I will be asleep before midnight.
Becca and Katie: Don't know if you'll read this, but what classes are you guys taking?
(Becca is at U of O Honors and Katie is at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York.)

I am reminded of the 1999 movie Office Space, which I saw for the first time on Saturday in the XC van, passing through Kansas. Ron Livingston says this line:
So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life.
Therapist: What about today? Is today the worst day of your life?
Ron Livingston: Yeah.
Anyways. Life is opposite for me. Each day is better and better. So if you think about it, every day is the best day of my life. It's not like I'm living in Perfectland Valhalla. Class is extremely demanding, there are tense situation, there's awkward moments galore. But there is so much variety and life going on.
Kate: I don't remember what immunization information you need or have. However, you can see your immunization history on the OHSU MyChart Web site:
https://mychartweb.ohsu.edu/mychart/
username: krafter
password: I don't want to put the password on here. In case you don't remember it, I'll email it to you.
As for the disability services stuff, I found the AD/HD documentation guidelines and have printed them out. I will search through my records to find out if I have Kathy Gillis' assessment. I don't know if I have Dr. Liedel's letter/assessment, but he said he could make a copy. I will get the CC documentation guidelines request to him so he can send whatever information he needs.
If I have to talk to someone at CC about this stuff, who do I contact. Here are 2 people from the Web site:
Jan Edwards, Director of Disability Services/ADA Coordinator, 719-227-8285
William Dove, Psychologist/Learning Consultant, 719-389-6168
Finally, please PLEASE please find and scan the invoice from Boettcher from when you were sick. There might be 2 invoices, one for $125 and one for $25. I mailed CC a check to cover those costs, but can't ask the insurance company to reimburse me without the invoices, and CC won't send them to be because of privacy regulations. So please send them - scanning them would be best so I can turn them in right away.
On a totally different matter, I went to the JHS financial aid lunch today. Saw Mrs. Schwab. Marcus loves Santa Clara. She wants to read your blog.
Bye! Love you!
Mom

This story about Owen Marecic was in the paper last week: he's a star! You should at least email or Facebook him & say congrats.

Actually, amend that last statement; we NEED to chat more. Do you have IM?
