I chose my classes for next fall

Here are the top two choices I made for classes in the fall. All freshmen take an FYE (First-Year Experience) for the first two blocks. I had to consider my cross-country schedule, so I couldn't sign up for classes with lots of field trips (Microeconomics, Environmental Science) or lots of afternoon labs (General Chemistry). Here they are.

The Search for Islamic Order: Yesterday and Today
Blocks I & II: Political Science 203/History 200
Professor: Robert Lee
Mentor: Zach Falconer-Stout
"In the first block, the course examines the historical development of Islamic societies and orthodoxies . . . The second block confronts the questions of order and disorder in the contemporary Muslim Middle East."

Block I: Elementary Chinese, Block II: Chinese Language and Culture
CN/PA101 & CN/PA250
Professor: Hong Jiang
Mentor: Weston Brownlee
"This course will then pay attention to the relationship between Chinese language and culture; or in other words, the relationship between word and image, poetry and painting. "

French Civilization was a distant third.
