I chose my classes for next fall

Here are the top two choices I made for classes in the fall. All freshmen take an FYE (First-Year Experience) for the first two blocks. I had to consider my cross-country schedule, so I couldn't sign up for classes with lots of field trips (Microeconomics, Environmental Science) or lots of afternoon labs (General Chemistry). Here they are.

The Search for Islamic Order: Yesterday and Today
Blocks I & II: Political Science 203/History 200
Professor: Robert Lee
Mentor: Zach Falconer-Stout
"In the first block, the course examines the historical development of Islamic societies and orthodoxies . . . The second block confronts the questions of order and disorder in the contemporary Muslim Middle East."

Block I: Elementary Chinese, Block II: Chinese Language and Culture
CN/PA101 & CN/PA250
Professor: Hong Jiang
Mentor: Weston Brownlee
"This course will then pay attention to the relationship between Chinese language and culture; or in other words, the relationship between word and image, poetry and painting. "

French Civilization was a distant third.

Movie Review

This wouldn't post on Facebook, so I'm saving it here.
Review: L'Auberge Espanol
Worth watching/qu'il est bon de voir
J'aurais donné 4 étoiles à part que: 1) Audrey n'apparaît que 5 minutes et 2) Xavier, c'est un con.
I would have given 4 stars, except that:
1) Audrey Tatou appears for about five minutes total and 2) the Xavier character is a total fathead.

What are my responsibilities today? Ha !

It's summer and I like it. I'm going to be lazy for a whole month and I like it. Except for pre-season training; I won't be lazy about that. In fact, yesterday I did my first good run on a treadmill. 45 continuous minutes. I'm back!
Let's see. Today I will go to Borders and get some cool books, then I will go swimming, except that I lost my goggles. Toodles.

The objective of this web journal!

This blog serves as one large letter home about my goings-on that anyone can read. It's like an electronic postcard. High-five!
In it, I'll put my goals, wishes, problems, and reflections. I'm going to allow comments on the condition that no one is going to problem-solve anything for me. No. I am going to figure out everything for myself at college.
